ARMA Toronto Chapter Program: GARP®: How Do We Turn Blue or Green?
Date: Thursday, February 16, 2012
Time: 2-4pm
Place: 483 Bay Street, North Tower, Ground Floor – Special Events Room
Speaker: Paula Lederman, IMERGE Consulting Inc.
About the Program:
GARP® is often used to assess the Records Management maturity level of organizations. It is an excellent tool to very briefly summarize to management and non-record staff (in most cases legal staff) the current status with the existing records program or lack thereof. The challenge that is then presented is: what do we need to do to turn green or blue, and what resources (time, money, people will be required? Oftentimes, the goal is to move from GARP® to formulate a roadmap based on priorities and corporate drivers. This talk will summarize these cases and lessons learned and will provide a framework for moving forward from initial assessment using GARP.
Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:
1. explain GARP® and its role in a records management assessment,
2. develop a prescription of an action plan for GARP, and
3. create a roadmap for a fully functioning and compliant records program using GARP® as a measuring tool.
